A good cheek weld is essential for accurate long range rifle shooting. We're giving away files that will let you 3D print a cheek rest that fits perfectly and looks great on your Gen 1 Ruger American Rifle. That's about $40 in retail value for what can cost you as little as $3 in materials.

No need for supports, just print it in the orientation shown in the image and tear off the tabs when it's done printing. If you don't have a 3D printer of your own, you probably know someone who can print it for you.
The cheek rest includes holes that you can use to mount the cheek rest using two #8 sheet metal screws that you can pick up at your local hardware store for less than $2 and a 1/8" drill bit .
